Moving home is in the top 5 most stressful life events and here at Priory Estates we try and take as much stress out of the process as possible.

Application Process

Found a property
Once you have found a property that you wish to apply for, then you need to complete and return an application either electronically or direct to your local branch. If there is any other information that you feel would strengthen your application, then please put this in the note section of the application form, or submit an additional separate sheet direct to the branch.

Contacting the landlord

Identity
We will then approach the landlord to get your application accepted in principle, subject to credit checks and references. We would recommend that you are proactive and have your documents ready to support your application.

Priory Estates will need to confirm the identity of anyone over the age of 18 who will be residing at the property and confirm your Right to Rent in the UK. We also require 3 months bank statements.

Acceptance

Reference acceptance
Once you have been accepted in principle, we will issue our terms and conditions, take your holding deposit and take copies of your documents as advised. Once this has been completed we will carry out the credit checks and go out for references.

Hint -It is always helpful if you could advise your referees that Priory Estates will be contacting them and if they could respond at the earliest opportunity then this will enable us to complete this part of the process as soon as possible.

During your tenancy

We will continue to work closely with you throughout your tenancy, and should there be any maintenance issues then please advise Priory Estates at the earliest opportunity. You can either use the traditional route of contacting your local branch by telephone or email, or why not use the Report Maintenance Button which you can see on any of our web pages. Just complete the form with the relevant information, including as much detail on the maintenance issue as you can and click on submit. We will acknowledge you and instruct accordingly.

End of tenancy

Should you wish to give notice, please liase with your local branch, who will confirm to you the notice period that is required. Notice should be given in writing, either by letter or email is acceptable, and you should check that we have received it. We will write to you to acknowledge receipt of your notice and confirm your vacating date and give you some guidance and reminders as to what is expected from you when handing possession back of the property.
